BThis week, Year 6 will be investigating the properties of shapes and looking at angles. We will need these skills both in our SATs tests and for secondary school!
Check back here for updates on what we are doing in class..........
In the meantime, have a go at these games:
http://www.fruitpicker.co.uk/activity/ - a fun fruity game, where you have to add angles on to find your way to the fruits!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/keyskills/flash/kfa/kfa.shtml - cool Kung Fu inspired game where you have to direct your martial artist to his opponent my giving him instructions in angles!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/maths/shape_space/angles/play/popup.shtml - a really exciting mission to take part in!
http://www.mathplayground.com/alienangles.html - help your intergalactic friend to find his way!
As fun as these games are, they do still count as "extra homework" - be sure to mention that you have been playing them to Miss Davies, or better yet, leave a comment letting us know how well you have done below! (all comments come straight to Miss Davies' iPad!)
Why not let your family have a go? See if they are as brilliant as Year 6 are with angles!
(all games have been checked and are safe and sensible for you to play!)
Enjoying using a protractor to measure angles within a building plan!
Being extremely precise! Well Done!

kahara: I really like the idea of the year 6's having they're own blog . I think it makes children feel more comfortable in what math's level they're in. it makes them feel more confident.
